Apparently with no relationship with China's home-grown 3G wireless standard bearing the same name, this TD-CDMA technology has been commercially deployed in quite number of countries in Europe, Asia and America:

[Update 09/24] Correction: China's wireless standard is TD-SCDMA, not TD-CDMA.
